Shelly is an empathetic Behavioral Health Therapist who focuses on the client’s strengths and resiliency. She has experience working with anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, and grief and loss. Striving to help clients find tools to cope with life stressors, she utilizes modalities that include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and strengths-focused approaches.
Shelly collaborates with clients to identify and enlist their internal strengths and resources to approach life’s challenges. She believes the client is the true “expert” in their own life and promotes a safe and accepting environment to help each feel secure throughout the therapeutic process. While being supportive and genuine, she assists clients in viewing their strengths and to develop coping skills and strategies to help navigate through life stressors.
Shelly received a Licensed Master of Social Work and graduated from New Mexico Highlands University with her MSW. She understands how busy life is and encourages self-growth, awareness of strengths, and the importance of balance to help along an individual’s mental health journey.
